Additional Town Fogging 9/12/2023
As a result of West Nile virus detections, additional adult mosquito control applications will take place in Johnson Park area, Olivehurst, Marysville, Live Oak, Tierra Buena, Yuba City, Sutter, and Plumas Lake area on Tuesday morning, September 12, 2023 as early as 3:00 am and lasting up until 6:30am.  Spraying will be performed with pickup mounted foggers, with an amber colored flashing light. Although this material poses a low risk to human health, some people may prefer to avoid or minimize exposure by staying indoors, keeping their windows closed and turning off their window –mounted air conditioners, evaporative coolers and whole house fans when spraying

Larvicide Spraying 9/8/2023
Due to detections of an invasive Aedes aegypti mosquito discovered in Sutter & Yuba County neighborhoods, a larvicide spray has been scheduled. Larvicide Spraying will be in the Marysville area and Live Oak Blvd area, September 8th as early as 3:30 am and lasting up until 6:00am. Spraying will be performed with a pickup mounted blower. Although this material poses a low risk to human health, some people may prefer to avoid or minimize exposure by staying indoors, keeping their windows closed and turning off their window –mounted air conditioners, evaporative coolers and whole house fans when spraying is taking place in the immediate area.

Ultra-low volume (ULV) mosquito control applications by aircraft have been scheduled for agricultural areas in Yuba and Sutter counties over the next three days, on September 5, 6 and 7, 2023. September 5th will include areas near Live Oak and Plumas Lake. September 6th will include areas near District 10/Hallwood area, Wheatland, and Rio Oso. September 7th will include an area south and west of Yuba City. All treatments are dependent on favorable weather conditions and visibility. Spraying will be performed starting at or just prior to sunset and last up to 2 hours. The Sutter Yuba Mosquito & Vector Control District is experiencing a surge of mosquitoes in late August 2023. We expect elevated numbers to persist through the Labor Day weekend and then begin to dramatically improve. The mosquitoes we see this time of year fly to town areas seeking a bloodmeal and then shelter, as fall is nearly upon us.
