Spraying Update

REMINDER: The Sutter-Yuba Mosquito & Vector Control District reports that in an effort to reduce the risk of West Nile Virus in the Sutter-Yuba area, District personnel will continue ultra low volume spraying for Sutter County town areas in Live Oak, Sutter, and Yuba City. Sutter County areas will be sprayed on Wednesday mornings. Yuba County town areas in Linda, Edgewater, and Wheatland will be sprayed on Thursday mornings.  Spraying will be performed with pickup mounted foggers every week starting as early as 3:30 AM and continuing up to 6:30 AM. All applications are predicated on mosquito abundance, disease activity and favorable weather conditions. Additional urban areas

Ultra-low volume (ULV) mosquito control applications by aircraft have been scheduled for agricultural areas in Yuba and Sutter counties over the next three days, on September 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th, 2024.  September 9th will include areas West of Live Oak. September 10th will include areas near District 10/Hallwood area, Wheatland, and Rio Oso. September 11th will include areas near Live Oak and Plumas Lake. September 12th will include an area south and west of Yuba City. All treatments are dependent on favorable weather conditions and visibility.  Spraying will be performed starting at or just prior to sunset and last up to 2 hours.

An aerial mosquito control application has been scheduled for agricultural areas north of Marysville, south of Linda and Olivehurst, east of Plumas Lake and south of Wheatland on Monday evening. Areas west of Yuba City have been scheduled for aerial spraying on Tuesday evening. Spraying will be performed starting at sunset and lasting 2 to 3 hours.  All treatments are dependent on appropriate weather conditions, and visibility due to smoke.  Aircraft applications will be made with a white Ag Wagon or a yellow and blue stripe Air Tractor flying at approximately 300 feet in elevation.
