West Nile Virus Activity
The District is seeing concerning levels of West Nile virus detections in both Sutter and Yuba County. This week the District has detected an additional four positive mosquito samples and 1 positive sentinel chicken between both counties. Adjacent counties are also seeing concerning detections, including Butte County, which now has a West Nile virus human case. Please don’t take any chances and protect yourself when you are outdoors by applying a good mosquito repellent and by wearing long sleeves and pants at dawn and dusk when mosquito activity is high.
