District staff are keeping a close eye on mosquitoes developing along both the Feather and Sacramento Rivers. High releases from the Oroville Dam and the Shasta Dam have caused the rivers to swell and spill outside of their natural channels. As low areas in the river bottoms become flooded, mosquitoes can develop and cause problems. Staff is ready to take action to keep them under control.
