High River Levels Producing Mosquito Hatch

High water levels in both the Sacramento and Feather Rivers from a couple of weeks ago have caused hatches of a flood water mosquito species. Staff is directing control measures at these sources to knock down high numbers of biting adults. Truck mounted fogging and some aerial control work is being done along the rivers near Plumas Lake, Tudor, Meridian, Verona and north of Knights Landing in Sutter County near the county line.
