A fourth positive WNV collection

A fourth West Nile virus positive collection of mosquito samples has tested positive, this time in the Robbins area. Yuba-Sutter residents are reminded to take precautions to avoid mosquito bites when outdoors, particularly at dawn and dusk, when mosquitoes are most active. Some simple steps, including limiting your outdoor time at dawn and dusk, wearing long sleeves and long pants, applying mosquito repellents, maintaining door and window screens to keep mosquitoes out of the house, and dumping or draining any standing water on your property, should become regular health practices. The chances of developing serious illness from any one mosquito bite are low, however implementing these practices will reduce risk for you and your family.
