The Town Fogging program will begin Thursday evening June 29th. Each Thursday evening beginning at sunset and lasting up to 3 hours, ground fogging trucks will be out to reduce the number of mosquitoes accumulating in the town areas. These areas include Wheatland, Plumas Lake, Olivehurst, Linda, Marysville, south Yuba City, Live Oak, Sutter and Tierra Buena.  Meridian and Robbins will continue a Tuesday or Wednesday evening spray schedule through the rest of the season. The District will be using Permanone, a synthetic pyrethroid. Generally, there is no need to relocate during spraying. Sensitive individuals can take steps to reduce exposure by remaining indoors during applications and turning off evaporative coolers and whole house fans. Applications are predicated on mosquito abundance and favorable weather conditions. This program comes to an end typically in late September, as our surveillance traps indicate significant reductions in adult mosquito populations.
