2010 Ag spraying schedule set
Commencing on Tuesday, July 6th and Wednesday, July 7th, 2010 agricultural areas within the district boundary with be sprayed both by ground and air. The District will be using a combination of insecticides including Pyrethrins, Pyrethroids and Naled. These materials are registered by the Environmental Protection Agency and applied according to label directions by the District’s trained and certified technicians and contractors. Aircraft applications will be made with a white Cessna, #N4781Q flying at approximately 250 feet in elevation. Agricultural areas west of Yuba City will be treated by aircraft on Tuesday evenings and agricultural areas north of Marysville will be treated on Wednesday evenings. All of the spray programs will be performed weekly starting at sunset and lasting 2 to 3 hours and will be dependant upon favorable weather conditions. You can obtain additional information about spray operations by calling the District office at 674-5456 ext. 0 between the hours of 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday thru Friday.

2010 Town Fogging set to begin
Town spraying for the areas of Meridian, Robbins, Olivehurst, Linda, Arboga, Plumas Lake, Wheatland, East Marysville, Live Oak, Tierra Buena and Sutter will start Thursday, July 1st from truck mounted, ultra low volume foggers starting at dusk. Spraying should last no longer than 2 1/2 hours. This will target the peak flight time of the mosquito. The District may also perform town spraying on Monday evenings if mosquito counts or virus activity become elevated. Agricultural spraying will start in late June or early July predicated on mosquito abundance and virus activity.

Mosquitofish are now available! Come in to stock your ornamental pond, stock trough, pond or other mosquito producing source. Or contact our office to make a request for service. One of our technicians can deliver mosquitofish to your site.
